Barangay Britania in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur is blessed with 24 Islands and Islets as it comprises the so called Britania Group of Island that varies in different sizes and shapes, magnificently Scattered in crystal clear blue water of Lianga Bay.

Some of the Islands are partially surrounded with pristine white sands so pure and refined, mostly spherical in shape. Famous for its pristine water and very fine, almost powdery sands and the different hues and colors of sea water that changes from one island to another.

The Start Of Our Journey to Britania Group of Islands

From Davao City will take about six(6) hours travel to Surigao. As you arrive Barangay Britania, various options to choose for your accommodation.

'J-Francess Homestay' is where we checked-in as they offered package for accommodation and boat for Island hopping. They also have various options of foods if ever you need.

Since the islands are relatively numerous and only one day is allotted, we manage to visit only four(4) Islands, though it offers real deal for adventurers and one would give a true appreciation of the spectacular experience.

  • Hagonoy Island

Hagonoy Island is ideal place for swimming, it is a long stretch Island with white powdery sand beach.

A few coconut and other trees growing that can give a little shade for tourist who wanted to relax while enjoying the views in this Island.

We take around 30 minutes boat ride from the port to arrive here.

  • Naked Island

Naked Island is just nearby Hagonoy Island. There’s nothing here but just a long stretch sand bar that’s so white and pure that disappear during high tide.

I believe this is the best place for picture taking. Ideal place also for swimming since the sand is more enticing than the previous Island.

It’s quite smaller and you can even swim around it.

Due to high tide, we only stayed here in just a while. Our guide decided to proceed to the next destination then.

  • Boslon Island

The most crowded island since most tourist stayed longer here than the previous spots. The views are still amazing with a huge rock formation within the island.

If you can see, there is a cross and a statue of Virgin Mary situated beside the Island.

You can enjoy various kinds of ride like Banana boat, Jet Ski, UFO and more other that could give you an unforgettable experience.

Majority of tourist have their lunch in Boslon inasmuch as the area is pretty wide than the rest of the Islands. Vendors are present here for your needs like refreshments, some foods and souvenirs too.

In my own opinion, it is better to stay longer in the Hagonoy Island or in Naked Island. I found it more relaxing and more comfortable than here due to its crowd.

  • Hiyor-hiyoran Island

This spot is our last stop, just beside the Boslon Island is Hiyor-hiyoran Island.

Various trees can be found in the are and mostly are coconuts. Good for swimming if you haven’t satisfied in last three Islands.

Snorkeling is ideal if you have your own, kayaking also good in this area if you love too.

During low tide, visitors can walk into the nearby two subsidiary islets according to our guide.

  • Souvenirs

Numerous shops available for souvenirs in town proper of Britania nearby the Resorts and Restaurants.

Though we did it only half a day, its enough to visit and enjoy the stunning beauty of Islands in Britania. I swear, you won’t regret the experience you ill get there and I bet you’ll wish going back.

Britania in San Agustin Surigao is about 6 hours travel from Davao City. A quite long travel but I really enjoyed. FYI we take a one day tour and its all worth payin.
