The second largest political party in the country has thrown its support behind the senatorial bid of actor Lito Lapid.
The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) formalized its endorsement of Lapid during his meeting with its chairman, Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco, on Tuesday (April 23).
Joining the former senator were other politikos whose candidacies for senator were also endorsed by NPC: Senator Grace Poe and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.
The candidates were accompanied in the meeting with Cojuangco by senators from NPC: Sherwin Gatchalian, Francis Escudero and Loren Legarda.
Lapid has been a member of NPC since 1992.
The actor, who’s enjoying a surge in popularity because of his portrayal of the character “Pinuno” in ABS-CBN’s hit television series, “Ang Probinsyano,” credits the party for his political success.
