Former OFW and Single Mother Graduates Cum Laude At The Age of 42

It was never too late for the former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) to graduate from college. Fortunately, she also graduated cum laude.
Michelle Sison, 42-year-old ex-OFW and single mother graduated with a degree in Secondary Education at the National Teachers College (NTC). Not just that, she was also awarded cum laude by the institution.
Because she is the oldest of five children, Sison decided to work early to support her younger siblings. But after her siblings graduated, she decided to take her turn to finish her study. Her younger siblings, in return, helped her get through her dreams.
“Walangmaayosnatrabahomgamagulangko. May isaakongkapatidngayonna teacher din, isasiyasatumulongsa akin para akonamanang mag-aral,” Sison said.
It is also the first time of NTC to pick out of their graduates who will be awarded the GawadHaraya, which is considered the highest award of the institution.
Out of all the graduates, Sison was picked by the school as her life and journey to finishing her studies inspires a lot of other students. Her success proves that no matter how hard it is, nothing should hinder you from achieving your dreams.
