After besting a “dark” period in his life, singer-dancer Gabriel Valenciano is seeking to inspire others who may be going through a similar struggle.
On Facebook, the middle child of music veteran Gary Valenciano shared photos of him in 2017 and 2019, illustrating the contrast between his gaunt appearance then, and his healthier appearance now.
The photos, he said, serve as a “simple reminder that no matter how lost you are in the dark, you can always find your way back to the light if you choose to do so.”
Valenciano had a tumultuous past three years starting in 2016, when his marriage with ex-wife Tricia Centenera broke down due to his infidelity.
In early 2018, he apologized on social media “to everyone I may have hurt,” saying that because he hadn’t been his “true self,” he “demolished beautiful bridges” and “strayed away from my family, my passions, my friends, and even our almighty God.”
