Presidential Legal Adviser Salvador Panelo has advised Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the campaign manager of the opposition Otso Diretso senatorial slate, to open his eyes and let go off his past idol.
“The achievements of the (Duterte) administration far exceed that of the administration of his idol, PNoy, where incompetence and trust issues among its top officials were prevalent, such as what were exhibited during the Mamasapano incident and the destructive storm Yolanda, an incontrovertible truth that is beyond forgetting,” said Panelo in a statement Saturday.
Pangilinan had brushed off President Rodrigo Duterte’s rants against senatorial bet Mar Roxas as “diversionary tactics” to make voters forget his administration’s failures and the poor track record of his senatorial bets.
Panelo said Pangilinan could not ignore Duterte’s achievements that were reflected in his “stratospheric public satisfaction, approval and trust” ratings.
“Like the other critics and detractors, Senator Pangilinan is deaf and blind to the unprecedented survey numbers of the President. It is about time he and others in the opposition wake up from their self-destructive illusion lest they are swept away to oblivion by the horses of change galloping in the country,” said Panelo.
