Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc has pledged to pursue a bill prohibiting discrimination in the country, after enduring such bad treatment in life.
In a post on Twitter, Gutoc said she has received many racist remarks online as a Muslim and as a Maranao.
“I have been getting a lot of racist remarks here on Twitter, as a Muslim & as a Maranao. So sad to see that people still do these kinds of things, when what we need is to be accepting & resolving.
Pareho pong tama ang ating inaasam – ang mapabuti ang kapakanan ng bayan,” she tweeted.
“I experienced discrimination all my life, I’m sure a lot of you have. That’s why Anti-Discrimination Bill is a priority for me. No more discrimination, yes to acceptance and progression, “ she added.
