Duterte’s counterstrike on investigative journalists came from their millionaire backers, foreign intel: Puro bayad ‘yan!

President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that his upcoming expose on investigative journalists would be based on feeds from their own millionaire financiers and intelligence reports from a foreign spy agency.

“Yang Philippine Investigative, ilabas ko. May ilabas ako. Maybe this week. Puro bayad ‘yan. Anak ng p*** puro pera-pera ‘yan sila. Maniwala kayo. I’ll show you how,” said Duterte in a speech in Batangas.

Huwag kayong maniwala diyan Philippine Investigative. Sus. Susmaryosep,” he added.

Duterte is fuming over a report by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism accusing him and his children of misdeclaring their statements of assets liabilities and net worth (SALN). Duterte claimed that he obtained testimony from their millionaire backers including ones who were asked to donate to one of their sick members.

Sabihin ko — I will include it in my statement.

Now I know you. You are sick,” he said. Duterte was thankful for data gathered by a foreign spy agency (which also supplied him with the intel to compile his narco-list) on journalists who have been nagging him on human rights and hidden wealth issues since he took over in Malacanang in 2016.

So they are listening to me now what I’m talking about.

Duterte hinted that these journalists were unaware that they were being funded by drug lords. Droga ‘yan eh. It’s funded. Hindi nila alam,” he said.
