Duterte won’t use force to resolve South China Sea dispute

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte rules out the possibility of the use of force against China in the South China Sea.

Speaking at the PDP-Laban rally in Agusan del Norte, Duterte criticized the Aquino government for not doing enough to stop China’s island-building activities.

“We lost it during the Scarborough standoff. Karon while they were building over the years while the case was heard in the arbitral court, sige na sila ug construction. O ngano wa nila adtua digto, gin parking ang barko, ‘What are you doing here? You are not supposed to build artificial islands in the international seas. That’s not allowed’,” according to him.

The Chief Executive also stressed that the Philippines is not equipped to go to war with China.

“Ang America wala man may gin buhat. Karon nakumpleto na. Mura na kampo gyud, naanay na mga pusil, ako ang ila pakadtuon. Pwede man na maghinambog, pero pulpog ina tanan. And my soldiers and my policemen will be massacred. Wala ta ikakaya nila. So estorya nalang una ta,” said Duterte.
