President Rodrigo Duterte will lead the opening ceremonies of the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City on Sunday.
It will be held at the Davao City Sports Complex, University of the Philippines-Mindanao campus in Barangay Mintal.
With the theme “Shaping the Future Through Sports,” this year’s Palarong Pambansa is set from April 28 to May 4.
The opening rites of the country’s largest youth sporting event was reportedly moved to another date to accommodate Duterte.
The President is currently in Beijing, China to participate in the second Belt and Road forum for international cooperation.
He is scheduled to arrive in Davao late Saturday evening.
