Castro says Arroyo’s ‘poor’ satisfaction rating due to budget brouhaha

House Majority Leader Fredenil Castro on Wednesday said it was only natural for Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s satisfaction rating to be low considering brickbats thrown at her during the controversy over the delayed passage of the 2019 budget.

“Natural lang na maapektuhan ang rating ni Speaker Arroyo ng mga paninira tungkol sa budget,” he said in a statement.

“Pero ang mahalaga, naipasa ang budget at susulong na ang mga programa at proyekto para sa taong bayan. Kabilang dito ang Build, Build, Build program, Universal Health Care, Free Tertiary Education, at marami pang iba,” the Capiz lawmaker said.

“At agad ding kumikilos ang Speaker para sa mga nasalanta ng lindol. Ito ang tunay na serbisyo publiko, anuman ang lumabas sa survey,” Castro said.

The SWS survey showed that Arroyo’s rating remained “poor” though it climbed by 4 points from -21 in December to -17 in March.

The survey showed that 29 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with her performance against 46 percent who were dissatisfied.
